Formalities
We offer fast-track welcome appointments for people living and working in the Leiden region. These appointments include BSN registration (with possibility to register at your employer's address), one-to-one guidance from our helpdesk with your first steps in the country, and a welcome bag with essential information.

Do you have questions about living in Leiden and the Netherlands? Leiden International Centre provides you with information and advice about healthcare, housing, education, childcare, learning Dutch and more to help you settle in.

Join the International Centre's events to help you settle in, feel at home and meet new people. With regular Meet & Mingle events, thematic webinars, cultural activities and career workshops, there is always something happening to support you living in the region.

Check out the newcomer guide of Leiden International Centre. The guide is designed to make your move to the Leiden region as smooth as possible. In the guide you can find essential information and practical tips on registration, housing, healthcare, education and childcare, getting around, social life and things to do. It includes all the steps you will need to take before your move to the Netherlands, upon arrival and when settling in.
You can download it before you move and pick up a physical copy during your registration appointment to settle in and make the Leiden region your new home.
